American drawings call out AWG. Chinese and IEC drawings call out mm². They are two different series, so a conversion lands between sizes far more often than it lands on one. This tool shows you the nearest nominal area either way, the gap in percent, and which Jinyou model covers the result.

Reference series used

Nominal areas are the IEC 60228 series. IEC 60228:2023 specifies nominal cross-sectional areas from 0,5 mm² to 3 500 mm² for conductors of insulated cables, and states that a nominal area is not subject to direct measurement: each size is enforced by a maximum resistance value instead.
AWG areas are the geometric AWG series. AWG is defined by wire diameter, so its areas do not coincide with the IEC nominal series; the percentage gap this tool shows is the real difference between the two callouts.
Jinyou coverage: the silicone rubber and shielded models are published at 0.5–16 mm²; the irradiation cross-linked polyolefin model is published at 0.5–120 mm².
