DC Voltage-Drop Calculator — H1Z2Z2-K Solar Cable

DC Voltage-Drop Calculator

Enter the string current, the one-way run length and the cross-section. The calculator returns the loop voltage drop and the drop as a percentage of system voltage, against the 1 % design target and the 2 % limit used in photovoltaic DC design.

Model assumptions

Loop drop is calculated as twice the one-way length, because current returns along a second conductor. Conductor resistance is the class 5 metal-coated copper maximum at 20 °C, so the result is a worst-case figure at that temperature; a warmer conductor drops more. Inputs outside the declared envelope return no result rather than a misleading one.
