PV Grounding Cable
Find a flexible copper PV grounding cable to match a project’s specified earth or bonding circuit. Jinyou Cable will confirm construction, packaging, route conditions and termination inputs before production begins.
Production schedule
10–20 days after specification, packaging and quantity approval
Confirm the Construction Before You Quote
The Jinyou Cable product page documents a flexible BV/BVR earth wire with a copper conductor and PVC insulation. Treating it as a bare copper conductor, a current-carrying photovoltaic cable or a temporary grounding lead creates a specification mismatch risk because those constructions are not interchangeable.
Electrical identity
- Rated voltage 450/750 V AC
- Maximum conductor temp. 70°C
- Short-circuit temp. 250°C for 5 seconds
Available cross-sections
Fixed installation
- Minimum bend during installation 5×D
- Minimum bend after fixing 4×D
D means the documented cable diameter
Product boundary
The voltage and temperature values describe the product page data. They do not establish an outdoor, wet-location, direct-burial, ultraviolet, oil, ozone, salt-mist or chemical rating.
Grounding Scope Checkpoint
A size-only request is the wrong answer when conductor function is undefined because it creates a mismatch risk inside the approved PV array design. IEC 62548-1:2023 places wiring, protection, switching and earthing inside one array-design scope so cable supply follows that design rather than attempting to replace it.
Conductor function
Identify equipment grounding, bonding, grounding-electrode or system-grounding duty. Do not use one label for four different circuit functions.
Equipment and drawing
Name the solar panel frame, rack, inverter, enclosure or other equipment, and attach the approved connection drawing.
Required size
State the cross-section from the governing design document. If the drawing uses AWG, provide the original callout instead of assuming that 10 AWG equals an available metric size.
Route and environment
Describe indoor or outdoor routing, conduit, tray, exposure, wet conditions, chemicals, heat and physical protection.
Termination interface
Give the lug or connector range, conductor material, strand requirement, end preparation, mating metal and strain-relief method.
Identification rules
State the destination market and required color, marking and earth-conductor identification from the project document.
Packaging length
Select a documented roll or plastic drum length and identify any reel-label requirement.
Quantity and delivery
Provide total cable length, destination and the required delivery date.
Required documents
List the drawing, inspection record, declaration or other project document that must be reviewed with the quotation.
Termination acceptance
OSHA 29 CFR 1910.303 is a useful United States example of the broader connection rule: a terminal must be identified for the conductor material and used without damaging the conductor. The project authority still sets the applicable destination requirements.
Project Contexts to Qualify
The legacy product page refers to large solar stations, rooftop photovoltaic systems and floating solar arrays. Those project labels are useless without confirmed sunlight, wet-location or corrosion requirements; they define the market context, not the environmental test outcome. IEC 62548-1:2023 places earthing within photovoltaic array design scope, so the project authority must still qualify the route and environment.
| Project context | Inputs needed before acceptance | Reason |
|---|---|---|
Large solar array |
Grounding function, route, protective method, approved size and termination drawing |
Long routes and distributed equipment make conductor function and physical protection explicit design inputs. |
Rooftop PV system |
Roof route, conduit or tray, exposure, panel-frame or rack interface and destination rules |
A rooftop label does not by itself prove sunlight, heat or wet-location suitability. |
Floating solar installation |
Humidity, splash or immersion boundary, corrosion class, cable support and metal interfaces |
The U.S. Department of Energy notes that improper grounding or fastener selection can reduce bonding reliability in corrosive settings. |
Available Cable Sizes and Construction
Use this table to match the design-specified cross-section to the documented Jinyou cable construction. Final conductor sizing remains within the project’s governing electrical design. IEC 62548-1:2023 makes earthing part of the array design scope, so this table identifies available supply options rather than the required project size.

Packaging and Ordering Reference
Pricing varies based on the copper content, cross section, total length, packaging, marking, shipment documentation and any approved custom requirements. Provide project specification and quantity for a written quotation.
Production schedule
Production runs are scheduled at 10–20 days after specification, packaging and quantity approval, confirmed with your quotation.
Documented packaging choices
- 100 m and 200 m rolls
- 100 m, 500 m and 1000 m plastic drums
- Custom marking and packaging requirements reviewed with the order specification
Performance value without invented savings
A complete grounding scope reduces avoidable specification loops by putting the function, size, route, environment, termination and identification rules into one review. No savings percentage, payback period or service-life multiplier is claimed.
Custom Supply and Quality-Control Scope
Jinyou Cable provides OEM review for specifications, function, appearance and products intended for special installation requirements. The service scope covers conductor, material, packaging, storage and transportation controls.
Order controls
Check the quoted conductor construction and cross-section against the approved requirement.
Review material and appearance requirements stated in the order.
Confirm roll or drum length, marking and packing instructions before production.
Carry the approved storage and transport requirements into the order record.
Documents must be named
List the required product declaration, inspection record or destination document in the inquiry. A quality process does not by itself establish a product certificate, laboratory accreditation or a report supplied with every shipment.
How We Prepare the Order
Interface dimensions are checked before production because a drawing-to-cable mismatch could delay project acceptance and result in rework at the terminals. The connection checks follow the material and use-suitability boundary illustrated by 29 CFR 1910.303; destination rules and project documents govern the final order.
Receive the scope
Send the conductor function, drawing, cross-section, route and destination.
Check product fit
We compare the request with the published construction and available sizes.
Resolve interfaces
Lug range, metal interface, strand requirement, identification and environment are confirmed.
Set packaging
Roll or drum length, labels and quantity are fixed in the order.
Issue the quotation
Product scope, schedule and required documents are written into the commercial offer.
Produce and support
The service team provides a 7×24-hour rapid response for use and installation issues.

Where This Product Needs a Different Specification
This insulated copper wire is not a substitute for every conductor used in a solar grounding system. Use a different specification when the project requirement falls outside the documented construction or another conductor function is required.
| Situation | Why the current page is insufficient | Next action |
|---|---|---|
|
Outdoor, wet, buried or corrosive route |
No matching environmental rating is published for this product. |
Provide the exposure class and require the matching evaluated cable construction. |
|
Lightning or surge protection design |
A grounding cable does not replace project-level lightning or surge-protection engineering. |
Follow the approved protection design and specify the required conductor separately. |
|
Temporary grounding lead |
Temporary leads have different flexibility, connection and handling duties. |
Specify a purpose-designed temporary grounding assembly. |
|
Unverified copper-to-aluminum interface |
A bare copper contact or unsuitable lug can create a material-compatibility problem. |
Use a connector identified for both conductor and mating materials. |

PV Grounding Cable FAQs
Can one grounding cable connect multiple array structures?
That depends on the approved bonding and grounding topology, rack continuity, connection hardware and destination rules. Send the array drawing so the supplied cable follows the design.
Is 10 AWG available?
The published Jinyou sizes are 16, 35 and 95 mm², not 10 AWG. Send the original AWG requirement and the design authority’s conversion or acceptance rule before substitution.
Is this the same as bare copper ground wire?
No. This product is an insulated copper conductor with PVC insulation. Bare copper requires a separate connector, route and metal-interface review.
Can I use it for a DIY solar installation?
The cable must be selected within an approved electrical design and installed by a qualified party under the governing rules. A DIY label does not remove the need to verify grounding function, size, route, protection and termination.
Is the cable rated for direct outdoor sunlight?
No sunlight-resistance or outdoor-use marking is established by the reviewed client source. Submit the route and environmental requirements so the correct evaluated construction can be confirmed.
Which packaging lengths are available?
Documented options are 100 m and 200 m rolls plus 100 m, 500 m and 1000 m plastic drums. State the required package length, labeling and total quantity in the inquiry.
How long does production take?
Production runs are scheduled at 10–20 days after specification, packaging and quantity approval, confirmed with your quotation.
Which files should I send for an OEM quotation?
Send the grounding or bonding drawing, cable schedule, conductor function, required cross-section, route, environmental conditions, lug details, package length, quantity, destination and required documents.
