Copper is the largest single input in a building wire price, and the conversion from size and length to copper mass is public arithmetic. Run it and you can tell whether a quotation moved because the metal moved or because the offer did.

This is a nominal calculation from nominal cross-section, not a shipping weight and not a quotation. A stranded or flexible conductor lays its wires helically, so the copper actually on the reel sits a little above the nominal figure, and insulation, colour set-up, reels and freight all sit on top of the metal. What the number gives you is the floor.
