Cable Duty-Class Selector

Two answers narrow an industrial cable enquiry to one family and the construction questions that decide it. Axis A is what the cable carries electrically. Axis B is what happens to it mechanically once it is installed. Nothing is sent anywhere and no contact details are asked for.

Pick a duty on each axis, then select Show the family. The result names the family, the construction questions that decide it, and what still has to be stated on your enquiry.

Installed bend radius for a screened instrumentation pair

This second calculation applies only to the instrumentation family, where the multipliers are published: six times the outer diameter unarmoured, twelve times armoured. Both are the radius the cable rests at after installation. The radius while it is being pulled is larger, and is set by the installation method rather than by the cable.

Enter an outer diameter and select a construction. The result is the minimum radius the installed cable should rest at.

The selector describes construction duty. It does not assign a voltage class, a cycle rating or a hazardous-location suitability to any product, and it is not a substitute for the requirements written into your own project specification.

Send the duty class with a drawing and we return a written construction.
